Ethan Sun

About Me

I am a Research Assistant on the Financial Economics team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Before joining the Chicago Fed, I attended Dartmouth College where I majored in economics and graduated with high honors. My main roles on campus were as a research assistant (RA) and a teaching assistant (TA). During my freshman and sophomore years, I worked with Assistant Professor Xin Qi as a pharmaceutical engineering RA developing antibodies to target Interleukin-33. Most recently, I worked with The Dartmouth Professor in Economics Erzo Luttmer as a public economics RA looking at valuing human lives based on respondents’ choice between vignettes of life stories where life-time income and age of death are randomized. During my junior winter, I completed an independent health econonmics research project looking at the long-term effects of the ACA Medicaid expansions. For my senior thesis, I studied the effects of gun policy on gun violence and housing prices.
